Aila

Description:

Aila is a guard for the Karaya village. Ace thinks she's just a cute little girl, and frankly... That's what Aila is. She's the first one to notice Sarah and company fooling around on the Amur Plain, but by the time she gets back to the village, she sees it torched and on fire, with Borus running amok. She then joins the mercenary group, since her home is destroyed, but is eventually reunited with the rest of her clan. Even so, after the events in Suikoden III, she wants to tag along with Geddoe's group. She also seems to have a knack for sensing stuff and smelling people...

Aesthetics:

Aila is a cute little girl, just like Ace said. Ha, just don't tell HER that! A

Personality:

Aila is one of the better done characters in the game, but so is most of Geddoe's group. She seems to get along with the others well enough, but her naivety shows quite a bit, as she doesn't comprehend a lot of what goes on outside of her village. She's a stubborn girl, set in her ways and out to prove that she's just as much of a warrior as the rest of the group. Her scenes with sensing things can be amusing when Ace doesn't totally believe her. B+

Usefulness in Battle:

Aila is pretty damn awesome here. She's a solid, ranged attacker, and you need these to balance out your party. Sure, you can have six melee characters, but usually one of them is stuck, standing back and looking stupid. In this regard, Aila attacks twice and hits hard once she's leveled up. You really can't ask for a whole lot more than that. Her shield rune is also nice for healing the party, since Geddoe's group doesn't really have a healer otherwise. A

Usefulness in War Battle:

Two words: Fucking stupid. Why is she not available to use in this combat system for war...? She'd be way better than a lot of the ones that are.... N/A

Overall:

Wow, well there's a lot of good to be said about Aila, and not a whole lot of bad at all. She's one of the better characters in this game, and the fact that you're forced to carry her around in Geddoe's chapters, and in part of Chapter 5, is actually not a bad thing at all. I've always liked Aila, and thought she was a cute little girl. Of course, she'd probably kick me in the ass for saying that. A-
